This stunning Art Deco fillagree engagment ring features one European cut round diamond at ring center and four accent diamonds at either side. Square-edged prongs hold the center stone, creating a cushion cut or asscher cut effect. Immediately to either side of the center stone are two round diamonds, mounted vertically, followed by another vertically mounted baguette. Finally, the last accent stone is mounted in a diamond shaped etched frame, and very unusual as they are French square cut. Tapering down the shoulders of the band, lovely engraving and etching completes the top view design. The hand made Art Deco gallery is unbelievably intricate and lacy in detail. Typically, rings of this nature and age do show signs of wear and even damage to such delicate galleries, but this ring is in near-mint condition. The edges of the filigree gallery are also etched and engraved while the whole ring has been accented with miligrain edging.
The right hand ring center natural diamond is a european cut weighing approximately 0.86 carat- 7/8 carat
and
measures 5.92 millimeters wide x 3.62 millimeters high.
It's mounted in a period-classic Victorian square-edged basket and accented by a total of 8, full cut stones; 4 set at each side. Each side stone is set within a shield-shaped, free milgrain edged frame & create a tapered cathedral window effect that lead into the intricate carving detail down the sides of the delicate band. The overall look is clean with the classic architecture of art deco design. This Art Deco ring is hand-made and most certainly one-of-a-kind.
